9-1-1 Program
Bryan second grade
students receive training on the 9-1-1 system sponsored by State
Farm Insurance and the Bryan Police department.
This two session program teaches children when to call 9-1-1, when not
to dial 9-1-1 and what happens when they call for help.
During the second session students use a telephone brought into the
classroom and dial 9-1-1. A police department employee answers the phone as
we do at the police department. Students then tell us if they need a
policeman, fireman or EMS. They tell us their name, address and phone number.
Once told to hang up the students have their picture taken next to the
